Amazing Tintin chess set, with certificate: an edition of 1000, and I have Nº40

Beautiful figures of Tintin, Madame Castafiore etc., on solid bases.

Can send pictures if needed.

There’s no doubt that there will be interest in this, as the chess set seems to be quite sought after; it’s also fair to say that amongst collectors, these can fetch hundreds and even thousands of Euros, so please, let’s keep this to serious offers and people with genuine interest.

Bea, have you thought of selling this in one of the collectors auctions which take place in Paris and Brussels? It might be the best way to get a good result from any sale, and could be worth considering?

Good morning, jock123,
It is indeeed a very beautifull piece. I am looking for a serious buyer, and had in mind a price around eur 3000.

How can I proceed with this please ? It's my first time on this forum (and I will not go an auction - too much excitement). I can ship it when I find a nice buyer.

Thank you very much for your advice!

Hi, bea!

That sounds like a reasonable figure for what people wil pay for this chess set.

What we have done in the past is to suggest that the seller post a contact e-mail address, and have people who are interested contact them directly; it reduces the involvement of this site (we aren’t an auction site, and don’t have the capacity to facilitate transactions or resolve disputes, etc.), and avoids people posting offers here and then perhaps not getting a response.

Once the e-mail address is provided, please fix a closing date for offers to be made; once that date arrives, you can tell people if you are accepting an offer, or are withdrawing it from sale, or that you are setting a new closing date to extend the period.

NB: Tintinologist.org reserves the right to remove any post or thread at any time at their discretion.

If this is acceptable, then please feel free to post a contact e-mail address.

Other members, please note that apart from bea and the Tintinologist Team, nobody should post in this thread about the sale: all contact should be directly with bea.

We would also advise that all buyers and sellers are acting on their own behalf, and that Tintinologist.org is not responsible for any issues arising from any transaction. Please use caution in any deal which involves high value items and sums of money changing hands.

i have received an offer of eur 2800.
the potential buyer however does not live in belgium
and i will have to send the chess figures and the board by courrier. this is not a problem since i have the original cartons boxes BUT can anyone give me advise how i can arrange the payment please ? it is my first time and if i send first how can i be sure to get my money ? or do i wait for the payment before i send the set ? or do i work through a shop or trader ? thanks for your advises !!
