Hello everybody,

Thought I'd finally stop lurking and become an occasional poster. Loved Tintin as a kid in Finland, moved to US a decade ago and miss my Franco-Belgian comics so decided to try and promote them the best I can. So currently I review mostly european comics for Bookgasm (and used to review them for FA Online) in hopes of bringing in more readers to these wonderful books.

In my new column I plan to revisit not just new publications, but also do some retro reviews of Tintin, Lucky Luke, and anything that's still available.

Next column includes a review of Mezieres-Christin's Land Without Stars, and the one after that Edgar P. Jacobs' Atlantis Mystery. I have a bunch of these reviews out and hope to do many more -- the more the word gets out, the more books will come out, and the happier we'll all be.

Anyway, delighted to be here! --JT.

PS. A bunch of links to reviews that tell you more about my likes and dislikes than anything I can easily summarize here:

Hallo Daar!

My nom d'plume is Martie Opelle, and I'm a 14 year-old Tintin fan. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, and lived here ever since. Sometimes I feel like the only person at school who knows what the heck a "Tintin" is! My hobbies besides reading Tintin is watching silent film and reading in general. On the topic of silents, my favorite actress is Clara Bow, and I'm a hardcore silents fan. I've been lurking this site for some time, decided now would be a good time to register and finally introduce myself.

I hope to become a regular here, and I look forward meeting other Tintinologists!
Cheers,
Martie

I had been a Tintin fan since I was a child, and now, at 37 years old, I still do, hahaha!
I am very delighted to have found this site.
Now here I am, thank you all of us.

Fawlty Towers? The TV comedy? I hadn't seen, but I know what are you talking about. That comedy was very popular in the 80's.
From this years I was... reading the Blue Lotus hahaha. Have a nice day!

Hi all. I've been reading the comics for a long time! I'm male, 25, live in NYC. The comics are awesome and a great way to learn about the world when you're really young, and of course, so interesting. Favorite characters have to be Cuthbert, Snowy, Francis Haddock and Rackham, Didi, Mitsuhirato, Oliveira, Rascar Capac, Abdullah, Nestor, Tapioca and Alcazar, Allan, and the minor character Arturo (I'm a car enthusiast).
