Just taking this opportunity to say hello, and welcome to all our new visitors!

With the Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson movie machine rolling around the globe, interest in the Boy Reporter has never been higher. We are delighted to be able to act as a meeting place for English-speaking Tintin fans, both new and old, to share a common interest in Hergé and his creations.

Please feel free to just browse, that’s fine - however, we’d be delighted if you would consider joining our community, and participating in discussions on our forums.

The more people we can get involved, the more we will be able to do. There is so much to know, and the greater number of members we have, the easier it is to answer questions, uncover new points, and find out about obscure facts which may have puzzled the rest of us for years.

Thanks to all who have been boosting our numbers - it’s much appreciated!

We have gained a lot of members over the last few days, and seen a fantastic rise on Twitter, for which we thank you.

We have to point out that whilst we do try to keep everybody up-to-date with all the means at our disposal, it isn’t always possible to place the information in the forums, on Twitter and on Facebook: for example, there has been a flurry of media appearances by the producers and cast of the film on TV this week, often with only moment’s notice, and Twitter has often been the most expedient method of passing that information on.

The only way to be certain you get everything is to subscribe to each - that way you should be covered!

And another big hello to all our members (new and old) and also to the many visitors who have been spotted around the site in the past few weeks!

We couldn’t do it without you all, so thank you for your support and participation!

Yet again we have seen a big increase in people signing up: yesterday saw our 2,700 member join the main site, coinciding with our 500th follower on Twitter, and our 631st friend on the Facebook page!

As mentioned previously, the only way to be sure of getting everything is to join in all three places - you know it makes sense!

Also, please feel free to recommend us to your Tintin-enthusiast friends, and to spread the news: the world, it seems, is in the grip of a Hergé and Tintin-related fever, so there has never been a better time for getting the word out.

We’d also like to remind everyone that we are happy to accept contributions for the site, in the form of ideas for articles, suggestions for new features, and obviously any feedback on existing material.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Just thought I’d take the opportunity to mention that our membership has increased by well over 300 since I last mentioned it twelve months ago, standing at 3,147 today.

Thank you to all who show such interest in the site and what we are doing here: it would be quite literally nothing without you.

Once again, the team would like to encourage all those who can to participate in the development of the site by contributing to the forums, which offer access to, and input from Tintinologists around the globe: we know that many of you already do, but we are also aware of a large body of lurkers, to whom we say: “Don’t be shy - speak up, join in!”

Be sure to follow our Facebook page - it’d be nice to get the number of “Likes” up there, so if you are a Facebook user be sure to pop on over to our page, and encourage your Tintin-loving friends to do so too!
