The BBC reports that actor Benoit Poelvoorde has called on Belgian men not to shave until the country elects a stable governement (there has been a care-taker government in place since the last elections proved inconclusive, and the French/ Flemish divide became more entrenched), as a form of solidarity.

The BBC use the examples of Haddock and Calculus as famous bearded Belgians!
