Tintin.com have carried a link onFacebook to this story, in which the Rops auction house in Namur reveals that it was robbed last Thursday afternoon, when a thief walked off with an early edition of Le Crabe aux Pinces d’Or.
The thief is described as between 45 and 50, wearing a three-quarter-length leather jacket, jeans and glasses, accompanied by a woman with short brownish-blonde hair, a green blouse and a "flashy" apple green handbag.
According to Tintin.com, the album was valued between â'¬7,000 and â'¬9,000.
If the book isn't returned before Saturday, the auctioneers will circulate security footage of the pair.

So were they caught or did they fly the coop?

Just to let you know that the thief who stole this book was caught, finally brought to trial, and has been sentenced to 10 months in prison.
He had apparently stolen an early copy of Congo in a previous theft. He had two female companions: one was accquitted as it was felt she was not involved, the other got three months for her part in the Congo theft.
So the Thom(p)sons finally got their man (and woman)!
