It's World Book Day 2015 today, and it has been a busy morning this morning, as parents, children, teachers and librarians get into the swing of things - often by dressing up in honour of favourite authors and their book characters.

Over on Twitter there have been many heartening reports of Hergé being represented, as Tintins, Snowys, Haddocks and Thom(p)sons head for school; however, I am sure there must be more out there - has anyone seen any further boy reporters and ship's captains hitting the school run today?

Word Book Day's great, though it might be worth clarifying, given how international this site's membership and readership is, that although today is World Book Day here in the UK, and in Ireland, I believe most of the world celebrates World Book Day on the 23rd of April (this being the birthday of Shakespeare, Cervantes and some other famous writers).

That's just by way of a clarifying note, though. No lack of enthusiasm for the British World Book Day (or Tintin-themed dressing up) intended!
