Casterman have advertised that their next archival Tintin release, being prepared by Philippe Goddin, is to be a never-before collected version of "Tintin au Congo", which Hergé produced in 1940 for the Flemish-language newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
The 1940 version reworks some of the original black-and-white story, but is distinct from the complete re-draw which Hergé made for Casterman when the book made its move to colour. This will be the first time it has been made available in French.
M. Goddin will look at the development of the album over the years, from the 1930-31 serialization, to the changes made in the Swedish edition in 1975 (and possibly further, as the publicity appears to mention the 1980's?).

The book will become available (in French) on the 28th of November 2018.
