I recently came into a substantial amount of money and was wondering who i should contact if interested about purchasing some of the rights to Tintin.

If anyone could give any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Basically Hergé's widow owns all the rights to Tintin, as well as Hergé's other characters, and she created a charitable trust - the Fondation - to oversee the legacy; these rights are then exploited commercially by Moulinsart, a company wholly owned by the Fondation. I doubt therefore that, however substantial your recent windfall, you will be able to purchase any of the rights like you are suggesting.

However you might be able to license use of the characters if you wanted to make merchandise, for example.
