Space age Alcazar

I was just watching the futurama where Leela finds another cyclops, his name, Alcazar! I wonder if Matt Groening is a fan...

Alcazar actually is a real name. In Spanish it means "fortress", and people actually do have it for a last name. For an example, watch the new Narnia movie. One of the actors in there is an Alcazar.

The joke about Alcazar in the Futurama episode is that he basically turns into Al Bundy, the main character from a sitcom called Married ... with Children, which also starred Katey Sagal (the voice artist behind Leela). Leela also ends up dressing like Peg Bundy, Sagal's character, and refers to Alcazar as "Al".
