Have you used Tintin books and/or DVD's for work?

Hi! I have been out for a while. I just got internet! I am working as a fourth grade teacher of Language Arts and Social Studies in Texas. I introduced Tintin to my students and they love it! I read and show stories to them. They have practiced character traits with Tintin; order of events and story comprehension. When I'm done with a story, they ask for more!

Have you had a chance to add some Tintin in your workplace?

My mother is a teacher too and she's always bringing my Tintin and Asterix books into school to show her students. I'm ok with it, as long as they have clean hands when they're looking through them, XD

Well, I'm trying to learn German as a second language, so an obvious step would be to get a Tintin book in German, so I got Destination Moon Auf Deutsch. I don't know if this is the kind of story you're looking for, Triskeliae, but it just came to mind.

That is the best way to learn a language, Cigars!

I don't, no. But when I'm teaching (in training at the moment) I'll definitely use Tintin books for some of my lessons.

I don't really learn second languages with the Tintin books. I did, however, memorize certain phrases that might come in handy in the future!

Like other people with Asperger syndrome*, I am obsessed with something. And this 'something' is my collection of Tintin comics! So I had to go to a social skills training centre. At one time, they gave me a piece of homework: find several Tintin frames, scan them, and make a poster of different characters showing different levels of emotion.

* We aspies suffer a lot of discrimination. Please don't increase the amount. Let's not turn this thread into one about hating people with Asperger's, okay?
