Dictionary of Flemish Dialects: The e-WVD is the online database of the Dictionary of Flemish Dialects (WVD), a dictionary project that was started at Ghent University in 1972 and completed in 2018. The WVD collects the dialect vocabulary from East Flanders, West Flanders, French Flanders and Zeeland Flanders.
Dictionary of Brabant Dialects: The e-WBD is the online database of the Dictionary of Brabant Dialects (WBD), a dictionary project that was compiled from 1967 to 2005 at Radboud University Nijmegen and KU Leuven. The WBD collects the dialect vocabulary from Antwerp, Flemish Brabant and North Brabant.
Dictionary of the Limburg Dialects: The e-WLD is the online database of the Dictionary of the Limburg Dialects (WLD), a dictionary project that was compiled from 1983 to 2008 at Radboud University Nijmegen and KU Leuven. The WLD collects the dialect vocabulary from Dutch Limburg and Belgian Limburg.
Database of the Southern Dutch Dialects: The online dialect portal Database of the Southern Dutch Dialects makes it possible to retrieve more than 200,000 Flemish, Brabant and Limburg dialect words from the Dictionary of Flemish Dialects (WVD), the Dictionary of Brabant Dialects ( WBD) and the Dictionary of Limburg Dialects (WLD) online. In addition, an advanced mapping application makes it possible to see the distribution of those dialect words on a language map. These maps can then be edited to taste by users.
Dictionary of the Dutch Language: The Dictionary of the Dutch Language (WNT) is the largest historical dictionary in the world. It describes the meaning and history of hundreds of thousands of words from written Dutch from 1500 to 1976. It contains approximately 95,000 main keywords and approximately 1,700,000 quotations. It is connected to the
Old Dutch Dictionary, the Early Middle Dutch Dictionary, the Middle Dutch Dictionary and the Dictionary of the Frisian Language.Etymology Bank: The Etymology Bank offers all important etymological publications of Dutch at word level in one central point, both for interested language enthusiasts and for researchers.
Dialect desk:Dialectloket was developed by the dialectologists of Ghent University to illustrate the variation in the Dutch language. Dialects, interlanguage, Surinamese Dutch, Afrikaans,... Everything is covered in numerous informative texts, digital dictionaries, hundreds of sound fragments, fascinating videos and language cards.
Series of Dutch Dialect Atlases: The Series of Dutch Dialect Atlases (RND) contains the transcriptions of 141 sentences that have been translated into the local dialect for 1,956 places in the Dutch and Frisian language areas and phonetically noted by a linguist. The undertaking resulted in a collection of more than a quarter of a million dialectal sentences, which are now made available digitally for the first time.
Spoken Corpus of the Southern Dutch Dialects: The Spoken Corpus of the Southern Dutch Dialects (GCND) is a linguistically annotated corpus based on an existing collection of dialect recordings from the 1960s and 1970s. The corpus provides a sound-aligned transcription two layers, one closer to the dialect and one closer to the standard language, which are tagged for part-of-speech tags and syntax. The purpose of the corpus is to enable large-scale research into peculiarities of the southern Dutch dialects.
Variaties vzw – umbrella association for dialects and oral heritage: Variaties vzw is an umbrella organization for dialects and oral heritage. This non-profit organization unites the local and regional dialect associations in Flanders and Brussels. The intention is to achieve added value through collaboration and to make dialectology known to a large audience.
