Has Tintin won any awards?

Tintin is a great comic, but has it won any awards, literary or otherwise? That would be funny if it won an Eisner.

Hi Mate,

I know Tintin in Tibet was awarded the 'Truth of Light award by the Dali Lama in 2006. He was apparently the first fictional character to be awarded the honour.

You'd be surprised!
Herge was actually awarded the Will Eisner Hall of Fame award in 2003 (judges choice) so he joined a very elite list..

There must be others but this is all I know of first hand..

On a related topic, was Tintin ever awarded any journalistic awards (for instance the Pulitzer Prize in the United States?) It's fair to say that any journalist around today who did half the things he did would have a shelf groaning with awards.
