Mine would have to be 'Secret of The Unicorn'/'Red Rackham's Tresure'. But I also love 'Seven Crystal Balls'/'Prisoners of the Sun'. I'm not so fond of the Moon adventure.
You can also include 'Cigars of the Pharaoh'/'The Blue Lotus' if you want...

Hah, I said to myself when I first read this, how simple! What an easy task...

...then I tried to separate them, and I couldn’t!!

I love Unicorn/ Treasure for the mystery, Crystal Balls/ Prisoners for the suspense and the voyage, and the Moon books for the adventure and technical exellence of the art.

As I’m not a big Blue Lotus fan, that would drop into last place...

The moon series for me all the way! I love the build up in Destination Moon before the launch, I find it really interesting.

That's such a hard question!

It all depends on my mood at the time. I wouldn't like to label any one couple my 'favourite' because I love them all, with the possible exception of the Moon books which I 'just' like.

If I had to choose between them, I would probably choose Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun. That's just for the sheer Tintinesque quality they have. Seven Crystal Balls in particular is incredibly exciting.
At this stage of the series, the vast wealth of characters and artistic detail are firmly in place.

Cigars of the Pharaoh/ The Blue Lotus are much earlier and so don't have all this, but I still absolutely love them (The Blue Lotus in particular).

The Secret of The Unicorn/ Red Rackham's Treasure is perhaps the Tintin world stripped to the core, only after the series has had sufficient time to progress and develop a little.
The whole theme of the treasure in particular, but also the pirates and everything else in Unicorn, is just ultimate escapist Tintin. It's what it's all about really. They are both thoroughly enjoyable reads.

I like all Tintin books, but don't hold the moon stories in the same personal esteem as the other three couples. I appreciate that they were very well researched etc. (Destination Moon especially), and ahead of their time, but the aforementioned book had a bit to much technical jargon and not quite enough action/adventure for my taste.
I liked the ending though, where at night (I always like night time - it's more exciting somehow) Tintin and co. are driven to the launch pad.
I love the frame where the car is just approaching the rocket. That encapsulates the excitement and anticipation of actually setting off for me.
I thought Explorers was OK, but not one of the better Tintin adventures.

Tough to say.
For me, it would probably be the Moon series, followed closely by The Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun. I love The Blue Lotus, but to me, Cigars of the Pharaoh does not interlock with it very well.
Maybe it's because Cigars is much less believable than The Blue Lotus?
Secret of The Unicorn/ Red Rackham's Treasure is alright, but for some reason, I'm not as happy with Red Rackham's Treasure as I'd like to be...

Although I've stated in other posts that Destination Moon/ Explorers on the Moon is Haddocks finest moment, I feel it's not the best two-parter.

I've always felt that with this and The Secret of The Unicorn/ Red Rackham's Treasure the second part of the two is a slight let down, compared to The Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun where the excitement builds right from the music hall scene to the final 'escape by eclipse'

My vote? The Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun

Moonrocket, regarding your thoughts on the link between Cigars of the Pharaoh and The Blue Lotus: I agree that they are only loosely connected, but I think they can just about be regarded as a two-parter.

I definitely agree that they can be a two parter: where Cigars of the Pharaoh ends and The Blue Lotus begins, it works out quite perfectly.
But the art is a problem for me - I love the early style that Blue Lotus is in, but to go from that newer look in Cigars to the old fashioned art of Blue Lotus seems a little strange for me.

The Secret of The Unicorn/ Red Rackham's Treasure for the humour.
There was a lot of humour in the Moon series, but much more dialogue.
For action it is definitely The Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun.
