Hello, can I draw my own Tintin comic like Yves Rodier and put it on the internet? I will not change names of characters, places, etc.

Hi! Welcome to the forums.

This is a topic which has been covered on several occasions here on the forums, so there are links to further discussion at the end of this note.

The short answer to your question is, as far as we understand it, no, you cannot.

Without permission to do so from Hergé's estate, to publish your own Tintin comic on the internet (or in print) would be a breach of copyright law, and could see you involved in legal proceedings.

We are not legally qualified, copyright law is complicated, and there are some specific instances where things are open to context-specific interpretation, so, whatever you decide to do, we would suggest that you should take counsel from a legal professional if you are worried, ideally with experience in copyright law.
