I always wondered where the Thom(p)sons were during the Tintin in Tibet expedition and Flight 714 summit?
I'm sure they should have been in Flight 714, because the team proceeding to the Congress in Australia were exclusively picked from the moon expedition they carried out, and "to be precise", even the Thom(p)sons were part of the moon expedition (Explorers of the Moon)!
In Tintin in Tibet even the professor appears at the beginning, but the Thom(p)sons were nowhere to be seen.
If they were present I'm sure they'd have enjoyed their stay in India, like our Captain did.
Also, can anybody help me to find out missing Thom(p)sons in any other adventures?

As far as I can remember, the Thom(p)sons seem to be missing in Soviets + America + Tibet + Flight 714...

And they appear in Congo + Shooting Star, in two 'departure greetings' frames only...

If I follow the timeline, while Tintin, Haddock and Calculus were on the way to Sydney, (in Flight 714, which is just before The Picaros) the Thom(p)sons were taking care of La Castafiore, who was touring South America (just before she was arrested at the beginning of Picaros).

Precisely. My personal theory has always been that right after the events in the "Castafiore Emerald", the Thom(p)sons returned the emerald to Castafiore and she was so pleased that she hired them to watch over her jewels.

I guess the Thom(p)sons were invited to attend the congress, but just weren't available, as they were accompanying Castafiore on her tour.

As for "Tintin in Tibet", it is probably because Tintin, Haddock and Calculus had booked a holiday trip for just the 3 of them. After all they live together and it is easier for them to make arrangements. And perhaps the Thom(p)sons simply didn't have any time off those days.
