Ellipse-Nelvana Series: Costume switch for Tintin?

I was just watching The Broken Ear episode, by Nelvana, and I discovered the costume Tintin wears - when he simulates working on the ship - is the same (or very similar) to the one he wears in The Calculus Affair, when he impersonates a Red Cross envoy.
In the original The Broken Ear (I mean the book), Tintin wears a costume that makes him look like an African sailor.

Was this the probable reason for the change?

Moderator Note: The use of blackface as a disguise will have been removed for its lack of sensitivity for sure; it also makes sense that they chose a design for the substitute which was used elsewhere in the series, as it reduces the amount of work that they had to do, and possibly allowed them to reuse animation cells between the two episodes (when you have to draw hundreds of pictures for seconds of animation, being able to reuse anything is a big help!)
