Flight 714: How many times does Carreidas laugh?

On page 9, when Carreidas laughs again because Spalding fell down, he tells himself that this is the third time he laughed that day. However, I am sure that I am not the only one who observed that if one counts the number of times that Carreidas is seen laughing, it is actually four times. First on page 4, next on page 5, then on page 7 and finally on page 9.
