Yes, labrador road 26, your final statement posted as an EDIT is quite true.

But your original answer is the closest to the question so far. The "another character" is not so relevant like Tintin, but if I had named him in the original challenge, the answer would have been too easy.

Clue time!!!

The characters tried to do the same in the following books:

- Captain Haddock >> Tintin in Tibet
- Villain >> Land of Black Gold
- Another character >> Explorers on the Moon

Thanks for the clue. I think the cheerful answer must be that they all try to commit suicide/sacrifice their own life (depending on how you look at it).

Haddock is about to cut his climbing rope in Tibet, but fortunately drops his knife;

Muller, in Black Gold, attempts to shoot his brains out with Abdullah's gun, but merely gets a faceful of ink;

And in Explorers on the Moon, the tragic Wolff leaves the rocket to go to his death, to save his comrades, thus succeeding where Haddock and Müller fail.

oh, yes

Somehow I got an impression that all the characters are in the same event. No wonder, I was in complete darkness. :-)
