Those of you in the U.K. with Freeview might like to know that the 1950 film Destination Moon, previously discussed here for its similarities to the Tintin Moon books, will be showing on Film4 this Tuesday, 6th of April 2010, at 14:45.

It was on this morning, but I wasn't able to post about that in time; it will also no doubt make further appearances in the schedule over the next few weeks and months, if they keep to their usual habits.

Link removed

I never knew Robert Heinlein was involved.

Moderator Note: If you are able to provide Admin with documentary proof that the film is in the public domain world-wide, then the link you posted could be restored; until then, please do not re-publish information on finding the movie on the net. Many thanks!

According to link removed, the licence is in the Public Domain.

Moderator Note: The problem with that is that copyright status on that site appears to be by declaration of the uploader, rather than through documentary evidence (it is easy to find productions made in the last decade or so listed there as public domain); therefore that is not sufficient evidence of this film having fallen into the public domain.
