An auction is currently taking place in Paris where original drawings by some of the leading French and Belgian comic artists are up for grabs.

Yesterday, a drawing by Herge got sold for 2.5 million euros!

It was an inside cover for the black & white albums published between the 1930s and 1950s. It can be seen at web site of the auctioner Artcurial.

There are a lot of other drawings here too, including sketches for pages for "Tibet" and "Flight 714" and also drawings of scenes from the albums scene from a different angle such as Tintin being led away by the guards after gatecrashing the party in "Ottokar's Sceptre".

Some "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets" books, signed "Tintin & Milou", sold for around 34,000 euros.
