Hi everyone,
I have always pronounced "Rastapopoulos"
RA-STA-POP-OO-LOHS. In the Ellipse-Nelvana series, It is RA-STA-POP-UH-LUS. In Tintin Destination Adventure, it is
RA-STA-POP-O-LUS. One of my Tintin friends says
RA-STA-POPULOUS. (as in "A populous city." ) I have decided that whichever pronunciation gets the most votes I will start using. Thank you. Tell me which one you use.

I'd like to see how it is written in Greek, but it is something like this:

Ras - ta - po - puu - los

r = bit like German/Dutch r + h
a = like a in "car"
o = o in "log"
u = o in "tonight", uu stretch o

In Greek it is Ρασταπόπουλος, pronounced Ra-sta-PO-poo-los.

Like tuhatkauno and General Tapioca wrote. Though spelled a bit differently, it sounds the same. That's the way I heard it in the French TV series by Ellipse-Nelvana.

The important thing is to pronounce the R as in Spanish or in Russian.

That name sounds to be Greek...So the R must be strong. ' Could be Germanic, but the last part ' -popoulos' sounds Greek to me.

It should sound RRas-tah- PO-poo-los
