In The Seven Crystal Balls episode Sanders is seen at the beginning, where he gets a call from Professor Taragon; the door opens, a hand is seen - and it is the hand of Rascar Capac!
Wasn't it another Indian who was throwing the balls? Chiquito, the one who was running off from Tarragon's estate?
So, was it Rascar Capac doing this, or was it Chiquito?

I think it was implied that Chiquito was behind it all. He probably had a bony hand like Rascar Capac. But it also is more intriguing to not have it blatantly obvious - adds a bit of suspense to the mix.

In the Nelvana production, the hand that throws the first crystal ball is also wearing a bracelet like Rascar Capac's.
In the animated movie we actually see Chiquito and another accomplice in Tarragon's garden prior to the attack - something I don't think Hergé would have wanted.
The idea was to keep the villains shadowy.
