I went to Carmarthen in South West Wales to buy a new smartphone and go to several of the stores that we do not have in Mid Wales (including Waterstones). As I was walking around I noted they had a small Tintin section with the following publications:
"The Adventures of Herge": Herge's story done in the style of a Tintin album
A series of hardback books (about half the height of the albums) of the first ten (including "Soviets" and "Congo")
And several copies of "The Calculus Affair" yn Cymraeg (in Welsh)
as can be seen on this page.
According to the cashiers of the store, the Welsh translations have been going on for the past 2½ years and although unable to read Welsh myself, I would like to know if any other albums have been translated into Welsh (and if so, has "The Black Island" been translated into Scots Gaelic yet)?
Moderator Note: Please don’t lift images from sites belonging to other people - it’s regarded as very bad form on the internet, and is called leeching. Someone else has done all the work, and is paying for the web-space, etc.; it is unfair to freeload from their work, and as the site you lifted it from is a bookshop, they should at least get a visit from potential customers. The image has been replaced with a link to the original page (in English, rather than Welsh), which actually answers your question about other volumes in Welsh…
The post has also been moved to an existing thread about Welsh Tintin books.
