My partner and I have come into possesion of what we belive to be one of the old style watches dated on the origional paperwork at 22 dec 98 distributed by CITIME and written in French and English, the watch style is "TinTin Riding a Motorcycle" with a story below reading "We gain ground says TinTin to Dupont and Dupont who did not resist the fulminating departure of the motorcycle in "King Ottokat's Sceptre". It is in its origional tin with a embosed picture of tintin over the world with the heading Globe Trotter. The stap is genuin leather again in French (cuir veritable) and the word TINTIN underneath, The rear of the watch (Back plate) shows a picture of Snowy with a bone in his mouth and Tintin in portrait with words surrounding "Les Adventures de Tintin - Herge' Moulinsart - Etanche 30m also showing Registration and copyright Marks.

Can anyone shed some light on this as in value, desirability etc.

Thanks a lot Regards

Phil

My goodness -- where did you find this? I had this watch, but stupidly misplaced it a few months ago. I've been desperate to replace it, as it was given to me by a very dear friend. It was originally purchased at the kar'ikter store here in San Francisco, but now it's no longer in stock (and is no longer manufactured).

Thanks,

John

Hello John

Thanks for your message, sorry to hear about your loss, however your message gave us another avenue to persue in thay we are in the uk and you the USA.

We actualy called the shop you mentioned (Kar'ikter) and spoke to a gentleman there describing the watch and confiming questions he was asking.

The watch we have is an origional limited edition made in France and maketed by "Moulinsart" apperently highly collectable.

They used to sell for $200.00 upwards so untill we either make further enquires to say "citime" or "Moulinsart" we will not have a true valuation.

Watch this space.

Some one sugested that we put it up on ebay, but we have noticed that there are people on there selling cheap asian copies, and claiming they are genuine articles, as the gentleman from Kar'ikter said "They are fraudulent copies.

Once again thanks for your input

Best regards

Thank you for the information. I'll keep looking.

This weekend, I plan to turn out all of cupboards in the hope that my beloved watch will come to light. I just have no recollection of taking it off. It just disappeared.

Did you speak to the Englishman at kar'ikter? If so, he must wonder if something's up, as I asked him about the watch about a half hour before writing you.

Best,

John
