Why is it that there are only 2 episodes per disc and 2 discs with 3 epsiodes? the average episode of one episode is about 38 minutes some longer they could easily put 5 or 6 onto one disc
and i have notcied where the episodes have been put together without the recap there are 5 second cuts on most of the epsiodes.
The 3 disc feature films that have come out could have all been on one disc as well.

Well the DVD were sold as 2 disk versions with 4 or 5 episodes per DVD pack so I don't think they are a rip off.

Yes you can fit three hours or so on a DVD, but really the cost of the disk itself is about 5p, you pay for the content and no DVD company simply crams as many movies on a disk as they can!

Also I don't see why you would want the recap, seeing as you don't really need to be reminded of the previous weeks episode

The DVD set I bought was a rip-off. But I've seen the complete series in several DVD shops for about $59.95 Australian. Not bad considering we have dodgy prices for much of entertainment.

I saw one DVD set on ebay. Its a set of 10 DVD's. But the cover shows one episode on each. But they say that it comprises of 21 titles on 10 DVD's. Does anyone know the authenticity of this version? or its just fake? duplicated?

It's not really possible to say without more details: however there are plenty of legitimate vesions of the Nelvana cartoons as sets out there, so it is entirely possible that it is genuine (the UK version has the cover of one epsode on the front, and the second on the reverse, if that is of any help..).

Just to steer the thread back on topic, I saw that the box set of the Nelvana cartoons is £15 in the Virgin sale, and the three Belvision movie set was at £8, which is a bargain, not a rip-off (even if it does include the ever popular Zorino song...).

'Morning jock. What is this tune you speak of? My Tintin DVD knowledge is a bit lacking. I have a boxed set UK set which has "Anchor Bay" over it. Are these the Nelvana cartoons? If so, is the song specific to the Belvision stuff?

Is it a "Who will buy my fine oranges..." kind of song? You know, Gilbert and Sullivan or suchlike!! :-)

It might perhaps be the song, sung by Zorrino in the jungle at night at the campfire. From the film Prisoners of the sun, not the Nelvana tv-series.

In the swedish new dvd-release the song is missing, and I guess it is also missing in the Anchor Bay version.

When I asked the swedish company why the song is cut, they didn't really know, just that the new edited version is the one they have the rights for. My only guess is that it has something to do with the rights from whoever holds all rights to songs by Jacques Brel. Weird indeed.

I'm talking about the Belvision featurefilm of Prisoners, which can be found in the three disk collection boxed with Lake of Sharks and The Calculus Case/ Affair.
Zorrino sings a soulful little ditty whilst locked up in the temple, apparently backed by a traditional Incan jazz trio - it will break your heart, but for all the wrong reasons... It is more in the mould of the awful Whe-eh-er is Lovvvve? in Oliver!, than Who Will Buy?, if you need a comparison.
It is on the UK DVD - incorrectly identified on the sub-titles as "Zorrino sings in Spanish" - it is in French!
labrador road, the campfire number is missing in the UK DVD too - but it could be found on the CD Tintin au Cinema.
