Just as a matter of interest- how many people have you convinced to join the (hopefully ever growing) group of Tintin fans? My mum, despite initial scepticism, has caved in- even my cartoon loathing sister to some extent. And today I lent my girlfriend a copy of The Castafiore Emerald, leading to the reluctant admission 'It's much better than the series!'

Who introduced you to the fanaticism, anyway?

The only person I could say I've converted to something like a love of Tintin is my sister! She's now 28 >:o but when I was younger she used to read my books, on and off. Recently she's started to build up her own collection, so it's never too late to start; and when she's staying with me, if she hasn't brought anything with her to read at night she'll often go for a Tintin book. My mum likes Tintin too, and has been known to read them when ill in bed with a cold or something.

I cannot remember when, or why, I read my first Tintin book - it was definitely The Broken Ear, a very tatty copy now which I've still got. Perhaps my parents brought it for me - I'll have to ask them. I know my older brother liked Tintin, and we used to borrow them from the library. I can still remember the evening I first read 'Explorers on the Moon' more than twenty years ago. And I remember being given The Seven Crystal Balls for my birthday when I was 11. At school the same day I thought of nothing else but being able to get home, lie on the bed and read it from cover to cover.

Thanks for the wonderful memories, Herge

Well, my three older brothers started me off and now they wish they hadn't... mwa ha ha! ;)

Anyways, I have three step sisters, all younger than me, and anything that I think is awesome, they think is awesome. So I worship Tintin and they follow blind }:) My step mother says I've corrupted them but I've only led them onto the glorious path of Tintin fandom. What's wrong with that? ;)

And my half sister, whom of which is only a year and a half old, will sit there and flick ever so carefully through my Tintin books in awe and points at the tiny pictures saying very clearly, 'Tee-tee'. SO COOL!

My Dad also watches the cartoons from time to time, but the only one that he actually likes is the moonrocket episodes, because he loves space and that sort of stuff. Whenever he asks to watch any other episode, I ask 'why' and he says he needs some help getting to sleep....... so not funny.....

Anyway, I've converted a few people and I'm quite proud of myself. All bow down in hail to the righteous Herge`...>>hail, hail, hail<<
^_^
See you 'round.

I talked to my best friend about it, but she said she watched the TV series and was only a little interested. Well at least she respects my endless love for the series :D

A friend of mine (it's years ago though). I have shown him the tv series, and he even bought some of the albums. :] My mother has seen the albums on my shelve, and this is the only comic she actually likes, or at least admits to be a peace of art.

How sweet of you to say - yes finally after years (and years) of pestering I finally agreed to read his precious albums last month, just for some peace! Surprise, surprise I'm hooked! I'm on my second reading now and I can't wait until I can answer one of the trivia questions. Won't be complaining about future trips to the Tin Tin shop either.

I have converted several people, but the fact is, most of the people I know are already Tintin fans.

I have tried time and again to convert a friend of mine, even showing him Tintin.com once when I was at his house but he just does not get it. I think he is too interested in Star Wars. I was first introduced to Tintin by a friend of mine who moved in next door to me some years ago. I think I ended up liking Tintin better than him, since I have many more of the books than he does now.
