Tintin: Who to you is the strongest character in the series?

Hi there.
I want to ask who, to you, is the strongest character in the Tintin series.
And by that I don't mean physically.

For me Tintin and Haddock are the strongest of them, but's that my opinion.

Morally, I think it has to be Tintin himself. Remember in Tibet, when Haddock falls off the cliff and Tintin's refusal to cut the rope, even though he knows he will probably die because of it?

Well, you can never tell. I mean, Tintin could be seen as the strongest character because he can knock out men in one punch and take on multiple groups of enemies (The Blue Lotus for example)
Haddock when he's been drinking, and Calculus during Destination Moon, when Haddock tells him to stop acting the goat. He picks up someone and puts them on a peg.
Each of them seems to be overly strong but I think it's mainly for humour.
I would say Tintin myself.

Moderator Note: Thanks for your input, but just to keep things straight, the initial post specifies that it isn't physical strength that is being discussed: the topic is strength of character - presumably in morals or similar attributes, or even how well their character is defined through Hergé's story-telling.

Yes, Tintin and Haddock are the strongest.

I wonder which character is the weakest...?

Moderator Note: It's also best to remind people that these threads work best when you have to pick just one selection... It's all or nothing, win or loses, do or die! Which character is the strongest?
Part of the fun comes from the limitation - discussing which one is the superlative is illuminating!

Let's not forget that in Explorers on the Moon, before arriving back to Earth, Tintin was the most calm of all the group; he did fear death, but didn't despair.
Yes, I think in many difficult situations (such as this, or in Tibet, and many others) he has shown that he's strong.

I think the strongest character has to also be the blandest character in the books, and that is Tintin.

Despite having strong values as a hero, I also admire the way Hergé has moulded out his character in the final installment of the series where Tintin's characterisation is unimaginably perfect.

It's a mixture of both good and bad elements and that's exactly what heroes/ protagonists are about. Hergé truly transforms the boyish Tintin into a (somewhat youthful) more mature Tintin by the end of the series.

The strongest character worth admiration is Francis Haddock. He is morally (and physically) strong.

When he sees that his ship The Unicorn had been captured and is under control of Red Rackham and his pirates, and that the rest of the crew had walked the plank, he does not protest his fate or blame anyone or anything like that - instead he takes courage, and keeps on trying to free himself.

When he finally does, he decides to blow up the ship, rather than to leave it in the hands of pirates.

This surely requires moral strength.

Not only that, he even kills Red Rackham single-handedly. This proves his physical strength.

Tintin, hands down - morally and mentally. He can be counted on to keep his head in a difficult situation.
