I just saw a Tintin collection and I noticed that the reading range for this entire set is 4-8 while when i look at the 3 in ones or single books the reading range is 8-12 or 12 and up. I was wondering if this set was censored to make it appropriate for gifts and if some material is taken out of them. I really want to read all of these but if they are censored then i feel like something is taken out of the experience. do you know any good sites or a good way to get the entire Tintin comic collection?
thank you

Nothing is censored from the comics.

I hope that nothing in Tintin books is ever taken out or censored, because the books should remain whole, and, anything that may be offensive now was not offensive when the books were written.

I've never seen any evidence of Tintin stories being censored in order to make them more appropriate to a certain age group.

I'm pretty sure that if you go to a reputable book shop you will find the Tintin collection the same as when it was 25 years ago when his creator Herge died.

Between the 1930s and the 1970s, Tintin's adventures were often redrawn, updated and changed at the request of publishers, but the work was always done by Herge and his assistants and the definitive Tintin collection has remained unchanged for the past 25 years.

Before he died, Herge, left instructions that the stories should not be continued or further modified in any way. Tintin was his alone. The company responsible for his estate has stood by this policy.

Recently many have called for changes to be made to "Tintin in the Congo" in order to remove some of the more politically incorrect aspects of the book, but the company has refused, standing by Herge's wishes.
