I see people seem to think Snowy is Tintin's best friend. In my opinion he is more of a trusted companion more so. I'd say Haddock is his best friend. What do others think?

I don't know actually if Haddock is his best friend. Haddock is more like family than a friend. In my opinion, Chang is actually Tintin's best friend. Tintin sheds tears for him many times, and searches for him across the world against all odds.

A trusted companion can be seen as a best friend. Snowy is in fact Tintin's best friend. Tintin cannot live without Snowy and Snowy accompanies him everywhere, in all circumstances.

I agree with cigars of the beeper. After all, he sees Snowy as anyone would see a dog: a loyal companion. Chang remains (correct me if I'm wrong here) the only person Tintin ever shed tears over.

I've often seen it stated that Chang is the only person that Tintin sheds tears for. But in fact he also sheds tears of sympathy with Mrs Wang over her son in The Blue Lotus; and he sheds tears for Snowy in Flight 714 when he's in the bunker and believes Snowy to be dead.

Cigars is right though, that Tintin sheds tears for Chang many times, and he certainly goes to the ends of the earth to rescue him against all odds. But I like to think that Tintin would do the same for Haddock, if Haddock was presumed dead in an aircrash. Haddock would certainly do as much for Tintin.

I just don't think Snowy has as complicated and deep a relationship with Tintin by virtue of the fact that he is just kind of a perfect dog. And I just think that Chang is to minor (even though Tintin's quest to save him is very touching) to Haddock or Snowy. I am a firm Haddock supporter. Speaking of polls is anyone suprised by the results to the current one? (who is a worse ruler for San Theodores)
