Hi I lost a much loved Tintin watch and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a replacement. It depicted Tintin with Snowy, looking over what I believe to be Manhattan Island... - the image can be found on the last page of Tintin in America.

Anyway I loved the watch and its vamoosed, so any help gratefully recieved.

I guess it must have been rare as I have yet to find it on the internet.

Thanks
Alice

Hi Alice

If you go to store.tintin.com (thats Moulinsart's official on-line store) and click into "clocks" you will see some great watches including (I think) the New York one. Where are you based ? Cheers

Thanks tintinaustralia. Sadly they only have the modern version which depicts a night scene - mine was from a citime collection 1990 and had a day scene. (wow I'm so anal, I never realised!)
But I appreciate your help thanks!

Hello Alice, I'm just new to this forum and I might have just the watch that you are looking for to offer.
It's a 1994 Citime with the described scene showing Tintin and the dog (in german he is called Struppi) standing on a boat looking at some distant skyline.
I bought the watch around 1995 and wore it myself for a couple of years but I haven't used it now for some time. It has a few minor scratches on the glass and on the metal frame and the leather band is a bit worn too. The battery isn't working any longer but can be replaced, likewise the leather band.
Otherwise the watch is in perfect condition, I never went swimming or the like with it.
If you are interested, I can provide you with a scan.
Further, I am only a private person, no professional seller and I am sure we can settle on a fair price.
I live in Munich, Germany and look forward to your reply.
Kind regards, Stefan

Wow erpmunich you may well be my new hero! Could you email me a picture to alice [at] schumacherinstitute.org.uk with a suggested price?
