Hey there, I hope this is the right section.

In the episodes of Tintin where the rocket is seen, does anyone have any idea what sounds were used to make that? I would really like to get hold of them if possible, or create a similar effect.

I know it's a small thing to ask, but if anyone knows I would most appreciate it. :)

Well, as the rocket was nuclear powered, I would think it would sound a lot like an A-bomb or an H-bomb.

Hmmm, ok that's an idea. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Also, what's the name of that type of warning/alert sound you hear, like when the rocket nearly falls over? It sounds like some sort of navy alert siren.

Maybe they used a recording of a pile of rocks being dumped which then was slowed down or edited somehow, or maybe they even used a synthesizer.

The sound of the rocket seems to be the same sound as that used for the time machine in the computer game Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

And it definitely sounds like some sort of machine.
