I just thought of impersonate his trademark attire and I recently perfected it. Tintin wears tan plus fours, a blue sweater with a white colour polo t-shirt underneath and what's more, a high quiff.

I started wearing the same type of attire Tintin wore but with some changes; i wore a light blue t-shirt to cover the white polo-shirt and wore the same type of pants Tintin wore in Tintin and The Picaros. Well, I'm a bit shy to show you how my attire looks like because i'm fat and overweight and you may laugh at it. I'm just shy, OK.

I once bought a pair of trousers, like those brown short ones he wears most ( I don't know what they're called in english). I wore them once, I'm a girl and I felt just stupid in them.

I'm wearing the blue jumper more often, mainly because I'm afraid of wearing the brown trousers into college.

I'm going hunting to find Tintin's EXACT outfit so I can dress up as him at a fancy dress party. XD

I think, with proper modifications, Tintin's style could fit quite well within our 21st century fashion. I'm glad you've taken it upon yourself to make these adjustments, Tintinspartan! You should post some pictures - none of us here are so nasty that we'll ridicule you and bully you for how you look. And if anyone DOES do that, I'm sure they'll be justly punished by our moderators.

I'd say brown 3-quarter trousers/cargos would also do the job nicely. A blue hoodie would work well too, with a white button-up shirt hanging out underneath. Kind of like a hip future Tintin style. ^__^

Now I wanna go shopping! XD

Before we go further, do note that i had a different personality when i started the thread. Now, i am more mature and i'll be mature responding to your query.

Frankly speaking, i did try to dress up by wearing a sweater, and i found that. I wore it like once every week. I wore it over my school unifrom and i wear my regular school long pants. But now, i am so called changed and i wear the bright yellow t-shirt and regular long pants. I dun bother about wearing them. The last time i wore plusfours was like last year. I was thinking of wearing them soon but still thinking on what occasion.

About pictures, i have the right not to publish it here. Anyway, you could do the hard work by searching my username on friendster. If you want to become my friend, just send me a message on my profile and i will try to respond back. All my pics of myself are posted there. Do note that i'm actually a 'big' teenager with a soft and innocent heart.

Hang on: does Tintin wear a white polo under his blue shirt? Sounds uncomfortably warm, if so.

Amythejater, Tintin's pants are called "plus-fours".

I'm not sure if the kind of shirt is called a 'polo' or not, but I think that under the blue sweater he wears a white button-down shirt. In The Blue Lotus, when he rushes into the water to rescue Chang, we see that at that moment he is wearing a white undershirt underneath his tunic.

I don't think Tintin wore a polo shirt. I think they were only invented in the 1960's.

Actually, the polo shirt (AKA tennis shirt) predates the 1960s by a few decades - see link below - so could have formed part of Tintin's wardrobe from the early 1930s onward.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polo_shirt

Some of Tintin's yellow shirts from his earlier adventures could be polo shirts. Or they could be short sleeved shirts with buttons all the way down. It's hard to tell from the drawings. And sometimes (such as when he's kidnapped in The Secret of the Unicorn) the yellow shirt he's wearing is long-sleeved with the sleeves rolled up.

It's even harder to tell what kind of shirt the white shirt is that he wears under his blue pullover. Maybe it varies.
