Hergé: Hamleys book signing?

I queued at Hamley's toystore in Regent Street as a child for a book signing by Hergé. I have a signed copy of Flight 714 from this event, but it is not dated.

This was a high profile event at the time and is referenced on other Tintin chat sites as "late 1960's" - or possibly early 70's.

Can anyone advise on the actual date?

In a previous response (30 Nov 200) - see Tintin Books (Forum) #39 and #40 -the date of June 30 1977 is given for the booksigning at Oxford and Hamley's in London.

It's not likely to have been as late as 1977. Flight 714 was first published in the UK in 1968, so it's more likely to have been then, if the signing was to promote its launch.
