Can anyone help with answering the following question from site reader, Mark?
Does this word "backsheesh" appear in any of the adventures of Tintin? I tried doing a Google search but came up empty. Thanks! -Mark

It doesn't ring any bells, Mark, and like many people here I've read the books many many times from childhood onwards.

However, as this forum's Catch-that-Quote rolling quiz shows, there are sometimes bits of dialogue that it's surprisingly hard to recall having read. So it's hard to give an absolute no, and I'm willing to be proved wrong.

But my best educated guess would be no.
