To anyone who buys first edition First edition in English in quite good nick £125 good price or far to much?

I assume you're referring to the 1958 Methuen book, not the Eagle comics translation...

"Quite good nick" is a bit vague - I think I'd need to see it or have a fairly detailed list of its faults - but £125 sounds quite expensive.

I know this may not be a good indicator, but I bought a first edition of Ottokar for about £15 from ABE Books about 5 years ago. That was in good condition, no spine damage, fairly well read but not grubby, very minimal damage to the cover, just a bit scuffed at the edges and corners. OK, £15 was quite cheap and first editions have gone up in value a lot since, but I'd value my copy at £60-70 maximum today.

Maybe someone knows better than I, since I've not been following first editions on ebay for a while I'm not up on current market values.
