Model Submarine: How to display on the metal stand...?

Hi

So I was curious about the Shark Submarine model...it comes with a metal stand. Having checked the model out in person, I was wondering, is the model supposed to be placed so that the head of the model is pointing upwards (ie. the taller of the two poles is located at the head)?

Just curious as to the sturdiness of the overall metal stand before I made the purchase. I was able to pretty much remove the model off the stand easily, and the taller of the poles was a little loose to enable it to slide back into the hole into the head of the model. But I also found I was able to sit the model so that the tail of the model was actually on the taller pole, and therefor kept the tail off the surface more? Any ideas as apparently Moulinsart did not provide any instructions how the stand is supposed to be.

I don't know what the 'correct' way is, but I just quickly googled for images of the submarine which shows it pointing either way. There appear to be more images pointing upwards on t'internet, but if it works both ways I presume it's down to personal choice.

Personally I think it looks better pointing down, so it appears as if it's submerging.

Thanks for the images, very helpful. I tend to think it looks better pointing down as well, pointing up looks a bit like an airplane or re-surfacing.

And that's a bad thing...?? ;-)
Personally the resurfacing part is what makes a submarine worthwhile to me; a brick will sink quite readily, but doesn't have that reassuring, back-to-oxygen-and-daylight aspect that makes a nice personal sub appealing... ;-)

Well when you say it like that yeah re-surfacing is a good thing lol. Its more that the tail almost scraps the surface which is a bit worrying...

I bought it, and at the moment I have it in the re-surfacing position...looks okay, the poles actually fit better that way, but might change it from time to time, keep it interesting.

Stock photos I see on vendor sites show the shark resurfacing. This is the way I have always displayed my shark sub.
