I have two books published by Methuen, Tintin in Tibet and The Seven Crystal Balls.
I was wondering if somebody could give me a rough idea on the price, as i have no idea.
The books are in o.k condition, but not the best.

What are the dates inside the books? First editions in average condition fetch quite reasonable prices. There's no real price guide, they're worth as much as whatever you can get for them. Studying the form on ebay can probably give you a rough indication though.

Hi i have been looking on ebay, for The Seven Crystal Balls there was one going for 49.99!
I am not to sure of the dates, there are a few.
In The Seven Crystal Balls it says Artwork - 1948 and Text 1962.
In Tintin in Tibet it says Artwork - 1960 and text 1962.
However it does say about reprinting.

Thank you

I think these are reprints. The Tibet one could be worth a bit as both the dates are close.

It should usually have a reprint date too, if it's a reprint. Another way you can tell if they're early editions is if they have a red-coloured cloth spine, as opposed to a printed one.

Not sure what you mean there number1fan. The dates are like that because the French version came out in 1960 (copyright of the artwork) and the English translation came in 1962 (copyright of the text). Simple as that.

Well, jrwright1988 said Methuen books, so almost definitely English language copies.

Hi yeah defiantly Methuen books.
Neither of the books have a cloth spine.
I am thinking they could be reprints.
Just going to put them on ebay and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice though!

Without the cloth spines they are certainly not first editions; do they have the picture of the billboard with Tintin standing in front of it, and a synopsis of the adventure on the back cover, or does it show pictures of other books?

Either way, the titles of the books available listed on the backs could narrow down the age.

Hi

It shows pictures of other books!
Does this narrow it down now?

Thanks
