Hey there, I'm visiting London next week (I'm from Iceland) and I was wondering if someone could tell me about the color facsimiles. Is there a difference in the drawings, or is it just the dialogue that has changed? Also, which one would you recommend buying?

I'm also interested in the black & white facsimiles, do you guys know where to get them?

Thanks in advance

You’ll find a discussion of the colour facsimiles in this thread; as to which ones to buy, it probably is best for you to pick the one which is your favourite story! To give a quick summary - it’s not so much that the drawing or dialogue has been changed, they’ve just been given a perion “feel” - the paper is matte, and the spine is rounded and bound in tape, not the perfect bound square spines we have these days. The real exception to the “un-changed” description is The Black Island, which brings the first colour version of the album to English for the first time, and thus is considerably different to the standard volume.

If I were you, I’d go to the Tintin Shop in Floral Street, off Covent Garden, and have a look at these and the black and white facsimiles, which they usually have in stock - and of course much Tintin-related stuff besides.
