Following
a bit of argy-bargy between London, Paris and Brussels over the location, the Belgian
Le Soir has revealed that the premiere of
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will be held in Brussels on the 22nd of October this year.
It is apparently to take place at the UGC cinema at de Brouckère, in the heart of the city.
From personal experience this a really nice multiplex, not far from the Metropole Hotel (virtually opposite) - I wonder where the after-event party will be?
Anyway, the story at the moment is that Brussels will apparently have an afternoon event, which a member of the Belgian Royal family will attend with Steven Spielberg.
Mr Spielberg will then travel to Paris for a second premiere that evening, London having fallen out of the race at some point.
Brussels is still apparently angling to get an exclusive event in the evening, rather than sharing the honours, so we await further details...
