I stumbled onto a video on the internet, but I'm not going to give you a link, because the voices in my head tells me that this is not official.
It says it is a 2007 "promo video" for the Kuifje en de zonnetemple musical.
My question is does an official DVD version of this show really exist?
If it does, where can I get it?
I'm desperately looking for it, or the 2001-2002 French version.

Looks like a case of: there was an official filming of the musical and some third-party got hold of the edited version and put it online. But there is no actual indication that it is due for an official DVD release.

Are there many stage productions that are released on DVD legally? You'd think that they would make a TV dramatization or even a film version instead, something to cash in on Spielberg's movie.

Moderator Note: It is also possible that there was an "electronic press kit" (EPK), when images, video and publicity materials are distributed on DVD-ROM, USB sticks or over the net to the media, so that clips can be used in TV shows, and to let print journalists get a flavour of the production. There was also a promotional website for a while, which may also have hosted these images.

I'm pretty sure there was an offical DVD & Soundtrack on Amazon.Fr back in 2007.
I would love to own a copy and hopefully will some day.
The realease of the film could push something like this. If Golden Fleece and Blue Oranges are out on DVD this could be possible.

It's right here. Unfortunately it is not available at the moment. Maybe when the film comes out...?

Moderator Note: From the complete lack of any copies being available, even second hand, it is probably safe to assume that this product was never released.

Does anyone know if the DVD of the musical "Les Aventures de Tintin et le Temple du Soleil" has ever been released?

Thank you moderator. I thought that too. In the Wikipedia article Tintin – Le Temple du Soleil – Le Spectacle Musical it is stated (the bolding is mine):

"...the show was scheduled to be performed in Paris... ...A DVD was scheduled for release in January 2004.
[However] Divisions began to appear between the investors and the producers... ...a press release issued on the 20th of October declared that the show was cancelled."

So it may be that the presence of this item on Amazon.fr was in preparation of a DVD that was never produced OR it has been produced and is out of print. I am not sure ...

If there is need to refer to more than a sentence or two, just point members to the appropriate place, and they can go to that site to read the piece.

There's some more info on it here at actuabd.com. It looks like the DVD never actually came out.

Thank you acorndave. Mr Dirk Brossé (Musical Director) responded to my query by email stating that there was never a DVD made from the Paris show, since it never took place and he shared my confusion about the Amazon.fr listing.
