Amazon.co.uk have the The Adventures Of Tintin - 75th Anniversary DVD Box Set at a seemingly unbeatable price of £5.99! Well worth a look if you can a) afford it, and b) are looking for the series!

Have a look at the offer here.

£13.99 but still that's very cheap for this collection that is over 14 hours.

It was 5.99 pounds yesterday. Maybe that was a mistake and they had to correct it or maybe the UK has super-fast inflation! :P

Yes - it may have been a one day promotion or something, or an error as you say.

Sometimes it feels like you may be right!

Update: 28/09/2010 - …and today it’s £13.89 - deflating again!
Update: 30/09/2010 - …now a startling £18.28 - the price continues to yoyo!
Update: 05/10/2010 - …and swings back down, to £13.83 this time - it shows it matters when you decide to buy and save 6p!
Update: 26/10/2010 - …and now it’s £11.99 - must have been one of those Government cuts!

Just a note to say that the currrent DVD boxed set of the series (with Tintin running in the spotlight on the cover) is £9.99 on Amazon.co.uk (at least it is today – the above posts show that this can change quickly!)… Seems like another bargain.

Can you watch these in Australia? Is it compatible?

According to the item description, the discs are region 2 PAL, which should be no problem if you have a region-free DVD player.

I think it must be part of a general reduction in price, or a wider promotion of it, as I see it’s also £9.99 at Play.com, and £10.00 at HMV.com; other on-line retailers may also have at this sort of price too.

I've seen this DVD box set selling in Tescos and Sainburys for £10. It's £10 in the HMV shop in my local mall

rodney,

Practically every DVD can be played here in Australia, as long as it's not on a computer. I have only ever bought one DVD player (that was an old one) that exclusively plays Region 4 discs. Also for some reason, NTSC discs can be watched in PAL players, and PAL discs (generally, as far as I know) cannot be watched in NTSC players. Don't ask me why...
