Why there is a different physique of Dr J.W. Müller between the books The Black Island and The Land of Black Gold?
Was he malnourished? Or something else?

I guess his time in prison after The Black Island was on a restricted diet.

Yeah, even I have noticed that there was a drastic change in his appearance in the two books..
I guess he didn't want to be recognized by his former enemies (like Tintin) who brought about his downfall the first time?
It makes more sense given the fact that he had even changed his name..

Maybe he changed appearance in books because he shaved! Lol! I thought the book was the best in the series! It was hilarious!
