A while ago, an American diplomat wrote to say that, while on business in Cairo, he'd come across Tintin books in Arabic that appear to be published by the government of Egypt.
Has anyone else come across such issues? (Our resident expert on foreign edition Tintin books, Anders Karlsson, holds Arabic edition Tintin albums published by Dar Al Maref.)

Hi,
They were published by Dar El Maaref under a cotract with Casterman, from 1977 to 2007; there are only 17 titles.
The same publisher also publsished Asterix, Lucky Luke and Dan Cooper series, though not as extensively as the Tintin series.
