Hi!
I have for sale a hard-back, 1st edition copy of the the pop-up version The Adventures of Tintin: Explorers on the Moon by Hergé.
It is in very good condition, with no marks on the pages or the cover; all the pop-ups work as they should, and nothing is missing.
I have had this in my possession for a number of years, although I can't recall how I came by it (possibly a car boot sale?).
By all accounts it is a rare book, and in this condition must be worth a few bob.
There is one on eBay at the moment with a link on the sale to a previous copy which sold in July of this year for the sum of £370; I would be happy with £125, which would include postage.

Chris - The links provided didn't work, so new ones have been made to your photobucket. - The Mods

However, in looking at this post, we would offer one note of caution: we have not been able to find a copy of this book selling for £370 recently (not to say that it didn't, we may just have looked in the wrong place), but we do see that many copies sell in the tens of pounds, if not lower (albeit that many if not all of these are Little Brown editions).
Exercise caution on both sides in any transaction, and keep in mind that the price of something and its value are not always the same thing.

Good luck to all!

My mistake - the book sold for £270; here's the link - hope this one works.
Chris.

Moderator Note: The link didn't work, but we've fixed it again. It's still curious that that copy sold for so much, given that other copies in good condition are achieving very much less (it's also curious that the seller went on to relist the item or one like it - which may mean that the "sale" at that price actually fell through...).

The auction price and the re-listing did puzzle me also.
I do see a few copies of this book on eBay for much less, but these are not advertised as pop-up books.
Am I right in thinking that as well as the pop-up versions it was released in both hard-back and paper-back versions hence the difference in prices?
I am not an expert and I am only going on the previous sellers description of the book, its value and availability.
Could you confirm if the pop-up version of the book is so rare for me ?

There are hard-back and paper-back versions of the original strip cartoon book; the pop-up book was an adaptation of this, featuring a text re-telling of the story, with pop-up pictures based on original frames, and has only been made available as a hard-back.
I've got to say I don't think it is very rare - there always seem to be copies going on Bay, and all of them seem to be first editions (suggesting that it never went to a second edition); I got mine for £5 a few years back, and it is a very clean and tidy copy.
Looking at the recent sales on eBay, and ignoring that £270 copy, prices appear to range from under a tenner to around £30. I'd imagine that that is going to be a good indicator of what sort of price you can expect - higher than £40 would be a real stretch, I think.
You might get into that top range if someone is keen to have a Methuen rather than a Little Brown branded version (they seem to come up a little less often), but other than that detail they are the same book, so it isn't a crucial difference.
I'd be very surprised if you got it to the £40-mark - I can't see £125 happening at all, to be honest - however, we live in a free market, so who can say: stranger things have happened!
