Kultur Video are releasing on 24th September a short 25 minute documentary Inside Hergé's Cartoon Archives.
The synopsis states, "In this fascinating and revealing program cameras were given an unprecedented look inside creator Hergé's archives of his world famous cartoon hero Tintin and his timeless cast of characters."

Moderator Note: The disk is NTSC, so you may need to make sure that your TV and DVD player can handle this TV format; the good news is that it is also region free, so should play anywhere if you have the capacity to pay NTSC DVDs

I believe that this is a DVD release for the 1994 Opening Shot Tintin documentary - so it covers quite a lot, and has participation from Harry Thompson and LL-C & MT amongst others.
I've contacted the company, and am awaiting a reply about it, so will let you all know ASAP.
Hope it gets a release here too!

Had a message from Joe at Kultur, who has kindly sent the following:

"As per our managing director:
'Yes, I confirm this is the documentary that was shown in the U.K. as part of the
Opening Shots series in 1994. There is no extra footage, and there are no extra features on the DVD.'"

While any additional features would have been nice, this documentary is itself in effect an "extra" to the books, giving as it does the chance to see and hear Hergé talk about his work; as such it should take its place on any Tintinologist's shelf as a welcome addition to their reference material.

He's also sent a picture of the sleeve, which you can see here, over on our Facebook page.

Here's an extract from Kultur's press-release for the disk:
