Being honest, I've been left by my dad a few ago... brain cancer...
Yesterday I found a collection of Tintin books in a box, and was wondering of their value in order to decide what to do. Maybe there is someone here who could help me?
l'Eruption du karamako Belgium, 1952, mint condition;
Le Lotus Bleu Belgium, 1946, mint condition perfect;
l'Ile Noir Belgium 1947, perfect;
La Vallée des Cobras Belgium, 1957, perfect
and another 12 that I don't have with me at the moment.

Bless you all for everything anyway

Hi Myarloid,

Sorry to hear about your father...
I would be interested in viewing the books if you were able to take some pictures?
I have no idea of the value perhaps other may be able to help and postage would add up also as I live in Sydney, Australia.

If these are indeed early editions, and in such good condition, you probably have quite a valuable collection there - your father was a man of great taste!
French collectors hve got the identification of specific printings down to quite a fine art, and there is a long-established classification system for these books, so it may be possible to work out what you have precisely, but I would hazard a guess that there are many hundreds of Euros worth of books there if these are first editions.
It might be worth approaching one of the continental auction houses which hold specialist comic-related sales, for an apparaisal of your collection, and who could value it at least for insurance purposes. Artcurial in Paris for example are approachable, and can deal with French and English-speaking customers.
