Golden Fleece: Was there an earlier version?

Hi - does anyone have any information on earlier versions of the 1961 film Tintin and the Mystery of the Golden Fleece?

I have a copy of a Philippe Lombard book, Tintin, Hergé et le cinéma, which seems to give some information, but unfortunately I'm having to translate it via Google (very slowly!).

There're some tantalising details though - I think it states that Castafiore was in an earlier version, performing a concert at the Acropolis.

If anyone knows more (or has a proper translation of the book!) I would love to hear all and any details.
Thank you.

Hi! Interesting topic!
I've not got the Lombard book, but I think that the version that we have is certainly the only one that was actually made.

What I think you are reading about are the various versions which the script went through before coming to the screen, one - or some - of which did contain Castafiore. In fact, an actress was cast in the role, and was apparently quite displeased when told she would not be needed!

I'll have a dig around and see if I have anything further on this - there may be something in Jean-Pierre Talbot's autobiography, and I seem to recall the Castafiore cancellation incident may be in the The Adventures of Hergé comic biography.
